The Cause and Effects of rape.
Being raped is an action that permanently scares you for life. People are noticing some so unfamiliar about daily routines and natural habits. You know how you operate but after that terrible act happens you find yourself feeling totally different.  You start to wet the bed night after night, eating habits become weird, your attitude and perspective changes and so much more. Being raped causes habit changes and insecurity and flashbacks.
The first cause is being raped at a very young age. The effect of being raped at a really young age is being in shock for a really long time and having problems with growing up wetting the bed and so much more. I remember looking in my research and reading where wetting the bed was a habit after the traumatic event. The child his basically scared either way you look at it.
You start to have eating habits that become unnatural and very obvious to others. You can be really hungry at school, but when it gets to you having to be at lunch you get your tray and don’t bother to eat. Take that same example and place it out of school, like if you were at home you over eat and find everything appealing. What you call “cravings” to an impregnated woman would be the same feeling to a rape victim. You crave so many things and especially the things you don’t usually eat. You eat more and more, but when in different environment eating less and less.
The attitude you have towards everything also changes. You become isolated and secluded. You withdrawal yourself from everyone: family, friends, work, etc.  There’s this tiny black box with your name tangled in every web of thoughts. You’re locked inside, stuck like a fly, begging for freedom, loaning for support. Who will give it to you? Who will believe you? Or even hear you out? The judgment you receive turns your whole entire perspective. Some say it was your fault, and some say there’s nothing you could do.
Trust is something that is hard to keep. You have trust issues, and you’re so insecure. It’s hard to have trust with someone, because you feel as if they’re just going to take it away from you. It hurts to have trust that being abused. The most people that you care for are there for you, but your trust is the hardest gift to give them, and even harder in relationships. Having a partner is difficult for a lot of raped victims. They feel as if they are going to be mistreated and done wrong again when they’re not. Trust is hard to gain and it takes time to get by. Trust is a really big step in the process of everything when you look at it.

Basically being raped permanently scares you for life on the inside. You have to be healed the right way. The process you go through takes time, and patience, and care. It could be you today and someone special or close to you tomorrow. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and give your assistance.

The Unspoken
There are just some things kids won’t tell a parent because they feel as if they are not going to be believed in. An innocent child may be stripped of their pride and lost their way of growing up the right way. There was a moment when this young child was resting peacefully, when was disturbed by the most crucial feeling in a Child's life. The child was raped by a local family friend. She stays quiet and to herself with pain and depression and anger.
Rape, wow what do you think of when you hear that coming from your child or friend? That overwhelming sickening feeling you get as you stomach turns into knots of sticks and needles. Your sitting there stuck not knowing what to do, should you file a report and throws him in jail or should you just get over it because it’s the past? Well I believe the best thing to do is to file a rape report. Say if there was a child 6 years old raped by someone she knew who was older but never spoke of it, 10 years later she tells her mother with details of belief. The mother thinks to herself should she tell the police or leave it in the past? I believe that the Childs story shall be told of the unspoken rapist.  What right in the minds of men is it to rape an innocent child some say?
In the article of The Guardian by Nigel Bunyan in date of Monday 2 September 2013, court case shows that “The 48-year-old, who plays car mechanic Kevin Webster in the ITV soap, is appearing at Manchester crown court under his real name, Michael Turner, and denies all the charges against him. He faces five counts of rape, three of indecent assault, and two each of sexual activity with a child and causing a child to engage in such activity.” He then said “The first time he raped the girl, she clutched one teddy while Le Vell put another one over her mouth, it is alleged. The jury heard that on another occasion Le Vell raped the girl orally. Laws said that after the first rape the girl had nightmares and frequently wet the bed. "She talked to no one but her teddies about what had happened to her. She was scared if she told anyone she would get into trouble." Le Vell allegedly threatened her, telling her: "It's our little secret. No one needs to know, otherwise you'll be taken … You'll die and the evil will come over you." The child believed him, said Laws. He allegedly told her: "It's OK, just keep calm, stay asleep … I'm going to get rid of the evil."

Le Vell was imprisoned for his wrong doings which I found was justice for that innocent girl. Any man that has done such shameful things should be turned in and filed, cased in court and then thrown in jail. But till then the unknown and unspoken is once to be reviled for the justice of one’s innocence.

  Dear Editor-in-chief:
My name is Denia Wilburn. I am a sophomore at Early College High School in Conway, SC
I am here to address that people that have rape someone at any time should be thrown in jail, no matter how long ago it happened because kids won’t always tell you if there is something wrong. Kids at a really young age don’t know any better of any act of such physical emotion.
I personally say it’s sick to do such thing to an innocent child like that. It’s one of the cruelest actions that you can do to a child. Not only men but women also perform this idiotic, sick and twisted crime. Do you know the things you take from the child’s life? No, because most people don’t think before doing such things. You take away child’s innocence, their ability to smile, and grow up as a regular kid. They don’t think correctly, and tend to be very demure.
Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate your help and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,

Denia Wilburn

Unspoken poem

The Unspoken
She’s a baby, just 6
Not yet to be mature
TV playing, Boomerang of course
She’s tired, worn out, sleeping on the floor
She’s cold and scared, light sleeper you may say
It’s dark and unsettling
She’s touched, pulled
Pain in her body, she’s broken
She lets out a silent cry
Trying to sleep, she weeps
“It’s only a nightmare just pray”
She tries to think clearly, and listen to her papas’ voice in her head.
Mommy says, “GOD will put the bad guy away.”

It’s done.  It’s finally over.
Her favorite gown of silk like emerald
Stained with blood,
Lying in a tub, lights on.
She’s frightened. The gowns stored in a dresser drawer
She lies in a tub
Cloaked in water as if it was her bed
Breathe!
She tells her parents
“Go back to bed it’s only a dream!”
She’s broken and ANGRY and ashamed.
NO TRUST

She’s 7 now
No party, No nothing… Games
A room shared by her and her brothers
She rests in her favorite pair of navy blue jogging pants
Guests, Guys, Teens, People
She sleeps, its dark,
Cold and unsettling
She’s touched, but lightly
Her favorite pair of pants
Ripped, she’s frightened
Get up”, whispers, “Get up!”
POP
She’s hit
Slap
She still sleep, she weeps
A silent cry

 The Unspoken told
A friend of help
The sweetest soul
Kept her hidden whips
Her silent cry
Became a warm hug
A hope for better
And a life to love.
